Immigration Hub: House Democrat COVID-19 Relief Bill Includes Compassionate Immigration Provisions

Relief Bill Expands Benefits to Working Families Regardless of Citizenship Status

WASHINGTON, D.C.The following is a statement from Kerri Talbot, Director of Federal Advocacy for the Immigration Hub, in response to passage of the COVID-19 relief bill by the House of Representatives:

“We applaud the House Democrats for passing much needed legislation that will bring relief to the millions of Americans who have struggled during the COVID-19 pandemic. During the most significant upheaval of American life in living memory, we don’t need sympathetic words, we need our legislators to take action.

“The bill includes crucial provisions that will extend much-needed relief to all families and essential workers, including green card holders, Dreamers, TPS-holders, and undocumented families. President Trump and Congressional Republicans have consistently excluded segments of our country from relief, which is in line with the Trump administration’s continued attacks on immigrants.”
