WASHINGTON, DC – Senator Alex Padilla (D-Calif.), and Latino leaders will hold a press briefing tomorrow, August 5 at 1:30 p.m. ET to urge Senators to vote NO on poison pill, anti-immigrant amendments that would jeopardize the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.

The Senate is set to vote on legislation that would address inflation, combat climate change and bring down skyrocketing healthcare costs after announcing a breakthrough deal on this historic legislation last week. Just like they have done repeatedly, Republicans are now determined to derail this critical bill by offering up anti-immigrant amendments that would harm hard-working people. Earlier this week, a coalition of nearly 300 organizations, representing various constituencies, urged Senators to reject the GOP’s extreme anti-immigrant policies and focus on delivering a legislative solution that will empower all hardworking families. On the call, Senator Padilla and Latino leaders alike will call on Republicans to stop playing political games and deliver on critical relief for families.
