VP Harris Exposes Trump’s Dangerous Immigration Agenda At Debate

Washington, D.C. – Last night, in her first debate with Donald Trump, Vice President Kamala Harris exposed Donald Trump’s extremist agenda on immigration and called out his endless crusade to demonize immigrant communities for political gain. Her vision, which would both secure the border and provide a pathway to citizenship for long-settled immigrants in the U.S., offers a clear contrast to Trump’s “bloody” vision for mass deportations.

Harris’s agenda reflects the sentiments of the American people, as evidenced by recent polling showing that voters overwhelmingly prefer a pathway to citizenship (61% support) for undocumented immigrants over mass deportations (39% support).

“Vice President Harris stood firmly against Donald Trump’s divisive and inhumane policies, touting her proven record of delivering policies that center the safety, security, and stability of American families. Polling confirms: American voters trust Kamala Harris to fix our broken immigration system.

“Far from trustworthy on the issue, Trump’s outdated and extremist vision for America was on full display. He spent more time demonizing hardworking immigrant communities and spewing baseless conspiracy theories than on any real solution. What he did offer, was another glimpse into his plan to forcibly remove millions of immigrants from their communities and separate innocent families–a plan that voters plainly reject. In the coming weeks, Harris and Democrats should continue to expose the true consequences of Trump’s immigrant agenda: mass economic upheaval and devastating family separation.
