2024 Immigration Policies:

A blueprint for the biden-harris administration

For too long, America has waited for an immigration solution to a broken system that has left immigrants in the U.S. without an opportunity to gain lawful status. Today, labor shortages are holding back local economies and working families are tired of waiting for Congress to act. A growing chorus of national and local elected leaders, civil society and labor groups, and business voices are calling on the Biden administration to deliver immediate action. President Biden can meet the urgency of the moment and take critical administrative actions to offer work permits and lawful status for long-settled and newly-arrived immigrants who meet the requirements.

In the last year of its first term, the administration must decide whether it will live up to the President’s noble campaign promises or fall back and resort to short sighted or even cruel policies that harm the most vulnerable.

2024 Priorities

  1. PROVIDING PROTECTION AND RELIEF TO KEEP IMMIGRANT FAMILIES TOGETHER AND REBUILDING THE IMMIGRATION SYSTEM.

  2. ROOTING OUT DISCRIMINATION AND ANTIBLACKNESS IN THE IMMIGRATION SYSTEM.

  3. PROMOTING SAFE AND ORDERLY MIGRATION PATHWAYS AS PART OF FAIR, HUMANE, AND ORDERLY BORDER MANAGEMENT.

  4. RESTORING AND STRENGTHENING THE ASYLUM AND REFUGEE SYSTEMS TO ENSURE HUMANE TREATMENT AND PROTECTION.

  5. STRENGTHENING COLLABORATIVE HEMISPHERIC MIGRATION MANAGEMENT, INCLUDING ON CLIMATE MITIGATION, AND PROMOTING REGIONAL COOPERATION.
