Today, former President Donald Trump was declared the winner of the 2024 presidential election.
Washington, D.C – Today, former President Donald Trump was declared the winner of the 2024 presidential election.
In response, the Immigration Hub released the following statement:
“The election of Donald Trump jeopardizes the lives, security and stability of countless American families, including Dreamers and long-settled immigrants in our country.
“Throughout his campaign, Trump repeatedly vowed he would deport immigrants en masse and revoke many of President Biden’s popular actions, including policies that provided legal pathways for Dreamers, spouses of American citizens, essential workers, and other long-settled immigrants. In fact, more than 2 million Dreamers and immigrants with some form of temporary legal status stand to lose their protections and work authorizations.
“Despite the outcome of this election, the majority of Americans strongly support a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers and undocumented immigrants over a mass deportation policy. This underscores the need for all members of Congress, regardless of party affiliation, to come together and deliver on bipartisan solutions that honor our values and provide long-settled immigrants a pathway to citizenship.
“Together, we must work to create a future where facts guide policy, compassion leads decisions, and our democracy upholds its promise to be a place of refuge and opportunity for all.”
