Immigration Hub Announces Six-Figure National Ad Buy Urging Leaders to Deliver Citizenship for Immigrants

Ad Campaign Launches As Congress Plans Votes On Bills Establishing A Pathway To Citizenship For Dreamers, Immigrants With TPS And Agricultural Workers

WASHINGTON, DC — The Immigration Hub announced today the launch of a new, six-figure ad campaign urging Congress to deliver a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants in America. The national television ad, “Write the Story of US”, airs as the House of Representatives prepares to vote on two key immigration bills this week; the Dream and Promise Act and the Farm Workforce Modernization Act. The bills would collectively establish a pathway to citizenship for approximately 5 million undocumented immigrants currently living and working in the U.S.

“Our message echoes that of the American public - it’s time to deliver on the promise of citizenship to the nation’s immigrant workers, many of whom have been critical to America’s ongoing recovery,” said Sergio Gonzales, Executive Director of the Immigration Hub. “As Rep. Kevin McCarthy and other congressional Republicans  stage their political stunts and spin the same, tired tropes about the border, the Biden administration and Democrats in Congress are advancing solutions broadly supported by voters, including citizenship for immigrant families. We believe that now, more than ever, Congress must continue pursuing bold, transformative proposals through any and all legislative vehicles available, to grant a pathway to citizenship for all 11 million undocumented immigrants. This starts by swiftly passing the Dream and Promise Act and the Farmworker Modernization Act which the U.S. House will be voting on this week.”

The new ad is part of a multipronged legislative and communications strategy to move congressional leaders to support passage of legislation that would allow essential immigrant workers, Dreamers, TPS holders, farm workers and countless families to become U.S. citizens. “Tell Congress: Fulfill the promise of America with citizenship for immigrant workers,” urges the national TV ad.

This week, the House will be able to move forward the Dream and Promise Act and the Farm Workforce Modernization Act as legislators also prepare to introduce the Citizenship for Essential Workers Act, which would provide a path to citizenship for 5 million essential immigrant workers.

The latest polling shows that public sentiment continues to show growing support for citizenship for undocumented immigrants. A new survey from Fwd.us and America’s Voice found the DREAM Act to have 72% support, citizenship for undocumented farmworkers to have 71% support, and citizenship for undocumented essential workers to have 66% support. Nearly two-thirds (63%) of voters say they would be upset if immigration reform does not pass and a plurality of voters would blame both parties equally for the failure. In another survey released by the Immigration Hub, nearly one in three voters (31%) say that creating a pathway to citizenship is their top policy priority for addressing the issue of immigration.
