Immigration Hub Condemns Trump’s Sweeping Executive Actions Targeting Immigrants and Undermining American Families

Washington, D.C – On his first day back in office, Donald Trump is expected to sign a series of sweeping executive actions targeting immigrant communities, confirming an aggressive return to the cruelty and chaos that defined his first term. From attempting to revoke birthright citizenship to reinstating failed policies like “Remain in Mexico,” these measures attack fundamental American values and pose devastating consequences for millions of families, workers, and communities across the nation.

“Donald Trump’s anticipated sweeping executive actions are a devastating assault on all American families and the values of fairness and dignity that define America. His plan to reinterpret the 14th Amendment to end birthright citizenship attacks over 150 years of legal precedent and aims to exclude entire groups from citizenship based on who their parents are—a move that drags us backward into a shameful history of exclusion.

Policies like suspending refugee resettlement and reviving ‘Remain in Mexico’ subject vulnerable families to horrific conditions and deny them the chance to seek safety and protection. Operating the military on domestic soil to fuel mass deportations harms communities and hurts our economy while offering no real solutions to tackle our broken immigration system.

From ending birthright citizenship to ramping up deportations and tearing families apart – Trump’s policies offer nothing to help working families. Instead of focusing on lowering costs and strengthening the economy – Trump is focused on prioritizing cruelty and chaos.”
