Washington, D.C – President Donald Trump’s latest immigration orders double down on his administration’s agenda of cruelty and chaos. Among the directives: granting ICE permission to conduct arrests in sensitive locations like churches, schools, hospitals and grocery stores; threatening local leaders who resist federal overreach with arrest; and halting refugee resettlement programs, even for families who have already undergone years-long, rigorous vetting. These memos reveal a blatant disregard for American values and aim to tear apart American families and destabilize communities. The President’s actions escalate the militarization of neighborhoods, disrupt economies, and endanger essential workers, parents, and students alike.

And by threatening to arrest local officials who stand in the way of these orders, Trump is demanding that they turn a blind eye to the horrors of mass deportation and family separation happening in their own communities.

“Let’s be clear, these actions won’t lower costs for families, nor bolster their safety, rather, they’ll deepen economic burdens by disrupting workforces and misdirect law enforcement resources away from real public safety threats.

“The majority of Americans reject this divisive, destructive approach. They want pragmatic and balanced solutions that prioritize keeping families together, protecting essential workers, and strengthening our economy. It’s time to reject the politics of fear and reaffirm our commitment to an immigration system that reflects compassion and common sense.”
